The “G.B. Bietti Foundation for Study and Research in Ophthalmology ONLUS” Research Hospital, in compliance with the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers of 19 May 1995, gives the Service Charter.

an important role in steering citizens and operators towards the core mission of the Foundation: carrying out scientific research of social interest within the field of ophthalmology.

More specifically, the mission, as defined in the Statute of the Foundation, consists of the promotion of research, study, documentation, and experimentation in the field of medicine, with a particular focus on prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment in ophthalmology.

The Service Charter thus marks a concrete commitment to providing users with high standards of quality in terms of personal attention, technical, assistance, and research.  
For many years, the G.B. Bietti Foundations has dedicated most of its scientific activity to the study and treatment of severe eye diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinopathy.

In order to carry out these research programs, the Foundation avails itself of modern, latest-generation technology (equipment, devices, drugs) and the collaboration of highly-qualified and internationally renowned specialists and researchers.

Medical services provided as part of research projects are administered to selected patients and are free of charge, since they are funded by private institutions or by the Ministry of Health. Professional training and the study of the organizational structure of hospitals are likewise research topics of the IRCCS.

The Quality System of the G.B. Bietti Foundation IRCCS complies with ISO 9001:2015 norm for "Progettazione e realizzazione di attività di ricerca scientifica e relative pubblicazioni in campo oftalmologico, progettazione ed erogazione di corsi in ambito ECM". Moreover the IRCCS has been recognized as a European Centre of Excellence for Clinical Trials by (European Vision Institute Clinical Research Network) in Coimbra - Portugal.
